Fred, I visited the Institut some years ago, perhaps, ca 2004. The institute is a serious academic dept. geared to research on various aspects of DS history and culture. If you go to their website you can get an idea of the expertise of various faculty. These are all busy people and you would likely need to have a well defined problem in order to get their attention(including an advance appointment). My contact was Josef Wolf who has considerable expertise in Banat military matters. I found their librarian very helpful, but, at least at than time, their library was limited in the usual material of interest to family history researchers. They has the usual card catalogue and their stacks were closed but the librarian had every thing within minutes. I think she didn’t have much else to do that day. This is all so long ago that perhaps matters are more developed. If you are interested in just DS family history you can’t do better than the AKdFF archives in Sindelfingen. If you go to Tuebingen let us know your impresions. Dave Dreyer Dear list members: Has anyone worked with or attended any of the programs of the 'Institut für Donauschwäbische Geschichte und Landeskunde' in Tübingen?
