Hello, I'm looking for some guidance from my fellow Banat researchers. According to Quieser's Katreinfeld-St. Georgen FB (1997), Martin Ritter (#2675) was born in 1783 in "Niskydorf". I was able to check the Nitzydorf FB (Schmadl, 2002) and besides not finding Martin Ritter, I found that the village was established and settled in 1785. Martin couldn't have been born there in 1783. There are Reitter families there and the Sammelwerk Stader book has a Jakob Ritter and family listed as going to Nitzydorf (#44225). So I'm thinking Martin was born before and his family moved to Nitzydorf when he was a toddler. Any thoughts on where else I can look for his birth... where would the settling families of Nitzydorf have lived before moving to the village in 1785? Or any gaps or flaws in my research/thinking? Martin married twice and had a bunch of kids in Kathreinfeld. I have the Kathreinfeld FB entries. Just trying to go backwards with him. Thanks in advance. Trish Stumpf Garcia
