I joined because Bob found a Deschu on his family tree. He did some searching and found my daughter. When he contacted her, she told him he had hit the Mother-Lode in Deschu research. But she referred him to me. I?ve been at it since 1977 after watching Roots in tv. Bob was an angel who taught me so much. The list he started has been inspirational for so many people. Yes, Bob Happy Birthday! And thank you for your foresight and wisdom in starting this list. I joined by lurking in about 2000. Being a member of this list has opened up a whole new world for me. My Banat grandmother passed in 1996 so I did not have any way to ask any more questions about her remembrances. Through the wisdom of others on this list, I have learned more than can ever be expressed. (Although passing one of Dave Dreyer's tests is not possible.)
