    1. [BANAT-L] WIND in Gross Sanktnilolas ~ Roll Call
    2. Nixon Janet
    3. This list has been a great boon to my research since I joined in 1997.  I have been able to link my WIND family back to Marpingen, Lothringia ~ now in Saarland. My one brick wall is discovering where my Wind line settled after coming through and registering in Vienna in 1764. The family of Joannes Petri WIN migrated in 1764, but I cannot pick up the family's whereabouts in the Banat prior to 14 January 1783 when Joannes Petri Win's son, Michael WIND, married Catharina Enerich in Groß Sankt Nikolaus. I know that many immigrant families lodged in other towns until their own home was built.  Have not been able to uncover where this was. Looking for death of Joannes Petri WIN/WIND b. Abt. 1738 in Marpingen, wife Elisabetha KLEIN b. Abt. 1734 in Eppelborn Stamm, Lotharingia or where in the Banat Michael WIND spent the years between 1764 and 1783.  All occurrences that probably happened somewhere near Groß Sankt Nikolaus Thank you for any insights. JanWind, Klein, Leber, Roos/Roosz, Enerich, Hach, Goetz, Phillip, JAGDENTEUFELD, Czenser ~ to name of few.  All of GSN

    3. Have you tried the Schlafkreutzerungen? This was a list of people who were already settled and were paid to take in immigrants while their houses were built. It also lists the new immigrants who were taken in. I have not looked at this for a long time, so I don't remember much detail. I viewed it on microfilm from the Mormon FHL. I expect that it is probably online now. I believe that it formed part of a larger file called Banater Akten which, if I recall correctly,  listed the immigrants passing through Vienna and which formed the basis for the W&K book and the later Stader books.
