Hi all I have struck a vein of gold in research on the WEBER family of Setschan, specifically family 5023 and 5034. I have some general questions and also specific ones about family 5034 (which is pasted below for reference). If I were to want to obtain copies of the church book entries for this data, would that be possible, and how would I go about doing so? If someone has done this, could you give me an idea of the cost? Is there an old map of Setschan available? Particularly one that gives the house numbers? The record indicates that Katharina WEBER (nee Hiljer) died in Lager Setschan. Can you recommend resources to learn more about this internment camp to be included in the family history I am writing? Also, family data indicates she died 23 Sept 1945 (from a baby book). Is 1946 a general entry? Is there a family book for Pardan? The record indicates that Stefan (5034.5) died in Romania at an unknown date. Where would I learn more about this? Finally, I have a great deal of information on Elisabeth (5034.3). To whom (if anyone) should I send the info to be included as addendum to a future issue of the book? Thank you all so much for your assistance. The earlier KBs with many gaps are in Neusatz archives. To get copies you would have visit the archives or contact a local researcher to get copies. Price with a resercher would have to be negotiated. > Is there an old map of Setschan available? Particularly one that gives > the house numbers? Dave, thank you for your help. I should have done some more digging before posting, but I was excited with the wealth of information in the Setschan book. I have some follow-up questions/comments. How might I view/obtain the old map of Setschan? The chronicle at the end was inserted as an image into the PDF, so I can't easily use Google translate. I am going to try and tackle the chronicle with an OCR Reader and the Google Translate, which will result in a very rough translation, but I don't read German, and that's better than nothing. If there are any web-based or English language sources, I would be grateful for links. What I meant by "general entry" for 1946 is that it doesn't supply a specific date, and since it was an internment camp, was a general date supplied because of lack of knowledge of details on those interned? Regarding Stefan who died in Romania, my follow-up would be where did the information about Romania come from originally? Again, thank you for your time. Your suggestions have really helped my research.
