Judy, There are two entries for Johann Jost in Roswith’s Kathreinfeld family book. Apparently she did not have any data which connected the two Johann Josts in these two entries. They are First entry Jost Johann, son of Anton Jost and Anna Wagner *1856 oo 25 Nov 1878 Kathreinfeld Reiter Barbara, son of Vitus Reiter and Barbara Brennessel *1855 Ernsthausen I cannot find a Barbara Reiter in the Ernsthausen records with these parents. There is more on the Anton Jost family in the Kathreinfeld book Part I by Josef Queiser. Do you know where in the Banat your family is from? I have determined by looking at marriage records of some children of the Jost family I am researching that they have a common father - Johann Jost/Joszt. I know from ship manifests that he lived in Katlinfalva/Kathrinfeld but I don't know if that is where he was born (b. abt 1855). His 1st wife was Barbara Reiter and she is the mother of Nicholas, Maria & Jacob for sure; possibly a Barbara & Magdalena. Johann's 2nd wife was Rosalia Repp & she was the mother of Johann & George. From WWI Draft registrations for Nicholas, George & Johann I have determined they were born in Katlinfalva. And that is about all I know at the moment. Would be great if we could make a connection.
