    3. Hello Charlie, My thoughts and prayers are also with all those people in the Balkans whose homes were under water. Vojvodina ( that is all that part north of Sava-Danube Rivers in Serbia) is not having much of a problems as per the reports I received from there, just the opposite. They had no snow cover this past winter, so all that rain was most welcome. The problem was and is around the Sava River and south of it. In Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia. Financial help is urgently needed. Here is more comment on the floods in the Balkans: http://www.giveliveexplore.com/2014/05/20/importance-helping-serbia-right-now/ See you in Mt. I know Stasa lives on the hillside in Novi Sad, but life was surely affected even on high ground - and there is not a lot of high ground in the Zrenjanin. I suppose we will eventually hear of some damage to historical structures and records which will be saddening. Of course, right now the focus will and should be on the people who call the land home. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn, clean up, rebuild, and live on. > > Best regards, > Charlie Tiller > St. Paul, MN, USA > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Dear friends, thank you all for your concern! Rosina is right - Vojvodina is not (or minimally) affected and the worst damage was done in western and central Serbia where enormous rainfalls caused by unusually huge and persistent cyclone filled up tributaries of larger rivers. The same applies for some parts of Croatia along Sava river banks and the substantial damage was done in parts of Bosnia near river Bosnia and Drina (Drina is a natural border between Serbia and Bosnia). Death toll in Serbia is about 40. I am not sure about Bosnia and Croatia. Those are irreversible losses, of course, but the damage done to the hundreds of thousands of people are evenly horrible - so many people lost complete properties. Waters were merciless and fast. Damage to the economies is immense. But life goes on. Best regards, Stasa On Thu, May 29, 2014 at 6:58 PM, Rosina <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Hello Charlie, > > My thoughts and prayers are also with all those people in the Balkans > whose homes were under water.
