I want to thank everyone who responded to my inquiry about our first trip to Eastern Europe sent earlier this year. Gwen in Oregon , Charlie Tiller as well as others you were right in recommending a guide. We contacted Stasa Cvetkovic in early in February and were able to secure his help for two full days in early May. He met us in Timisoara with a plan and awealth of knowledge. We would have never known of, or found all that Stasa was able to show us. It was great to have someone else do the driving too. We visited Banatski Despotovac, Serbia and Josefsdorf, Romania and many interesting places and people and good food on our journey. Thank you Stasa!! We couldn’t have done it with out you. Our vacation continued with a Danube River cruise from Bucharest to Budapest. We did not encounter bad weather, but because of all the rain the river had a lot of debris and was muddy. They had dropped the height of the river to control more flooding. There was no problem at the Iron Gates. Great vacation, long flight but worth it.
