Toni -- I've been away and am just now reading some e-mails. I don't have information on your Josef ... however, I do have the Wilhelm & Kalbrunner CD which lists people who registered in Vienna. No Josef's but perhaps he was a son or grandson of one of these. 1. Anton Furst -- about 1765 - von (from) Clashofen out of Mainzifchen 2. Christian Furst -- von(of) Branichweiler aus dem (out of) Nassauifchen about 1785 3. Frank Furst -- von (of) Clashofen aus dem (out of) Mainzifchen 4. Melchior Furst -- of Breitenbach aus dem Romifchen Reich ca. 1765 (translates I believe Roman Empire) 5. Lenhardt First -- Reich (Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation) May 1764 Re: Clashofen -- I believe this starts with the letter C; sometimes it is hard to decipher the old handwriting. There is a Glashofen in Germany ... but the letter does look like a C. I know this does not give specific information on your Josef but I thought you would like to know where others with that surname lived.
