Dear List users, After approximately a week of being off-line, the Banat-L mailing list is back! In case you did not know, all of AncestryDotCom suffered what is called a Distributed Denial of Attack (DDOA). This is caused by hacker(s) repeatedly sending hundreds of thousands of requests per second to the Ancestry servers in an attempt to “swamp” the Servers, thus crashing them. The list servers were the last area that Ancestry worked on to restore, and they are all now stable. It would appear that no messages were lost.
