    1. [BANAT-L] Updates on "Forgotten Genocide" Documentary
    2. Rosina T Schmidt
    3. The Forgotten Genocide Memories of a painful secret held for over fifty years are now finally being brought to light. The Forgotten Genocide is an in-depth, feature length documentary that examines the suffering put upon ethnic Germans living behind the iron curtain. Through interviews with survivors and examinations of relics of the era, the students of St. Louis Community College-Meramec aim to preserve the memory of this sad period in human history, and hopefully give peace to the almost 15 million souls lost. Hello, For those of you who are following our progress, I would like to let you know that we have set up a new email account for the project. seetheforgottengenocide@gmail.com is the address we will soon be sending updates from. Also, we have a new member to our team. His name is Adam, and he will be taking over our public communications when I transfer to a new school in January. I will still be taking part in the project, but Adam will be in charge of the weekly updates. This past week we have been working in various areas of production. Emily, who has experience in film projects, has been put in charge of shooting some of the footage for the documentary. She has done a great job using the resources available to her. This included, among other things, an extremely old house that one of her friends recently purchased. With our project being self-sustaining, with no outside budget, resourcefulness like Emily's in her filming is what makes this production possible. It is also very rewarding to find ways to overcome the obstacles that arise (as they do in any project of this size). Everyone in our group is determined to successfully tell this story. We are close to finding a musical score to accompany the film, and as always, editing of the footage continues. We welcome any questions, comments, or suggestions. Sincerely, Sarah Marino
