    3. Thanks, Rosina, for sending this link. What terrible things the ethnic German people of Eastern Europe went through. I also found it interesting because the link led me to some background information on Moravia that I had been looking for. My great-grandmother, Franziska Lipsky, was born there in Rattendorf (now Radkov) in 1876 and married in Temesvar around 1901. I haven't been able to find out much about Rattendorf or the Lipsky family but have always been curious about what prompted her move to Temesvar. 3. Kathy, my grandparents also met and married in Temesvar, although the families came from Deutschsanktpeter, Großkikinda, Aurelheim .. So I guess it was the search for work that brougth them together and the beginning industialisation. In which part of the town lived your grandmother? For example there was a brickyard in Temesvar-Fratelia where a lot of employees were needed. And I read in the book of Fratelia that in 1910 there were 1850 industrial businesses in Temesvar and 65 of them could even be called factories. So perhaps the second son of a families tried his luck in Temesvar.
