Hello - I'm researching the surnames Kapolnek as part of my research on my family tree. Here's the information that I currently have: * My great grandfather Georg Kapolnek age 43 arrived at Ellis Island in 1911 on the Amerika, with his wife Suzanna (Schaaf) age 40 and their children George (my grandfather) age 3, Ferencz age 8, Dominick age 15, and Anna age 10. * The place of residence for all was listed as Lazarfeld, Hungary * The place of birth for my great-grandfather Georg was listed as Sigmundfeld, Hungary. Any information, or direction towards sources of information regarding the Kapolnek name in Lazerfeld and Sigmundfeld would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tom Kapolnek
Tom; There are no Kapolnek families in the Lazarfeld family book by Leitl and Mueller. Three families of Kaplanek but earlier than your time frame, moreover no Georg. There are a bunch of Kapolnek families listed in the D Etschka-Sigmundfeld-Rudolfsgnad family book by Lung. The book is out of print but now available on CD from the AVBF.
