Hello, I was wondering if someone with the Klein Betschkerek family book would do a look-up for me.  I have been tracing the line of Anton Machalek *1820 in Ebendorf.  According to the Darowa family book, Anton married his first wife Rosalia Schauer *~1826 Gyor in Darowa in 1844.  They had at least two sons born in Darowa, but it might have been possible that they had more children elsewhere.  Rosalia died (death date and place unknown).  Anton then marries Barbara Martin *7 Apr 1828 in Darowa.  They have at least one son (Christoph) in Darowa, but I suspect that they might have other children.  There are no other references to the family in the Darowa records, so they obviously moved elsewhere. I just found something online indicating that Barbara died in Klein Betschkerek.  The information online showed: MACHALEK Anton oo um.1840 MARTIN Barbara* um.1817 Darowa/Banat † 22.09.1856 Klein-Betschkerek/Banat. The dates of birth and marriage are not consistent with the Darowa book, but I do think this is the Anton I have been seeking.  He would have been 36 at the time of Barbara's death, so it is likely that he married again.  I was wondering if there was any other information about Anton and his family in Klein-Betschkerek or the surrounding villages. Hans Grimm Jr. found a death record for Anton's son Ferdinand in Neubeschenowa in 1873, so members of the family stayed in the area. Ultimately, I am hoping to find a link between this family and the Machalek family from Gross Betschkerek/Lazarfeld who emigrated to Canada.  Michael Machalek * circa 1849 place unknown, a resident of Lazarfeld/Gross Betschkerek,  did marry a woman named Juliana who came from Marienfeld, and I thought that, perhaps, Michael was living in or around Klein Betschkerek when he married Juliana of Marienfeld.  If so, he might be a member of Anton's family.
