Hi Charles, There is a Joseph (Josef) Marshall who died on 8 Mar 1771 in Mercydorf at age  40 or 45.  The record is not very clear.  Joseph was from "Fah,"  which might be Vahl.  There are several Vahl possibilities, as you know.
