Hi Günter, I checked to see if there was microfilm for Tevel, but you will note that the microfilm begins in 1743, and the church was in operation since the 1720's.  The missing records are from the 1720's - 1742, and this is the time period my Leonhard/Johann Leonhard was born.  Henry Fischer thinks that these very early records are being held somewhere for sake keeping, but he does not know where.  I agree that I should consider the background of Leonhard’s first wife, but there is no surname for her.  She is mentioned only once in a death record.  From this record I learned that she was a much older woman.  I suspect that Leonhard married her on the way to the Banat or in another place in the Banat.   Thank you for the look-up.  Both you and Hans Grimm Jr. have been very helpful to me.
