    3. John, What was it your grandmother called them? It wasn't by any chance something similar to the French word "crepes," was it? We called them "pallichinka" (definitely not the right spelling, but that's how I remember it sounding) but that was more than likely just our mangling of the proper name, since we were pretty much English-only speakers.
