This is what I learned about the Tevel records: The first German settles of Tolna county are the ones in Tevel, arriving in 1712. Even in 1715 they are the only Germans mentioned in the tax records. The first Tevel records between 1712-1715 can be found int eh SZEKSZARD registries. The first priest of Tevel was Johann Heinrich Mack who arrived in 1713 with a group of settlers. He served in Tevel until 1718, then he moved to NADASCH. His name as the baptizing pries appears in the SZEKSZARD birth registries from Feb 2, 1714 until 1715. In 1715 there is a crossed out data in the Szekszard book, and no more Tevel records. Probably the first church in Tevel was built, the Tevel recordkeeping was moved to Tevel. It is know that in the first few years the priest changed very frequently, and probably the record were not properly kept. As it was mentioned, the books are availbe only from 1742 on, the years between 1715 and 1742 are missing. Best regards, Boglárka
