John, et al: My mother made these as a dessert with grape jelly filling. We used to roll our own and put the grape jelly and a sugar/cinnamon mixture on them. The recipe has been handed down and now my wife makes them in a large frying pan about 10" in diameter. Really good. Is there a different schwaebische word for palatschinken? Thin, crepe-like pancakes filled with various types of fillings? My great-grandmother used to make them all the time, filled with cheese, but my grandmother doesn't seem to recognize (or remember) the term "palatschinken."
