Hi Judy, I checked the Grabatz book, and the only Franz GERBER that is listed is Franz Josef GERBER, with wife Magdalena. Their first son Nikolaus was born 20.11.1802. Franz is the one who emigrated to the Banat, so there are no GERBERs before him. There are also many GERGERs in the book, which I checked, too. But there was no Franz near the time frame you mentioned.
