Hello Danube Swabians, As so many of you wrote, this year's Mt. Angel Treffen was not only gemuetlich but inspirational as well. What could we do better next time around? As Dieter Howald suggested, " there were a few camp survivors in the assembly, and certainly a number of Fluechtlinge who remembered being evicted and driven from their homes and property, then endured the horrific trek to Germany, to a country that could least afford them and did not want them anyway. These individuals are still with us today, but aging fast, they are an invaluable resource to a group like yours and in my opinion should have been given the opportunity to speak to the assembly on their experiences, on the memories they still harbour in their hearts."
