    3. Hello Fellow Researchers, While at the Mt. Angel DS conference I was lucky to obtain two books, one at the silent auction, and both of them describing the life 'back home' and the flight to freedom from Tito's starvation camps: Magdalena Gärtner - Sheltered in the Shadow of Your Wings - translated into English - purchasing through Arlene Prunkel at arlie272@gmail.com and Anton Krämer - Von Ulmbach im Banat nach Ingelheim am Rhein (in German) - am not sure if there is an English version. Both of them quite an eye opener and excellent to broaden our understanding of what misfortune and atrocities our people had to endure. Specifically Krämer has a lovely humour and refreshed my memories of the vocabulary I heard my grandma use, like Zwerchhaus (L-shaped building); Kaule (originally the hole where the lime was dug out for building material and later filled with water to form a pond). die Heerische (non agricultural professions, like pastors, doctors, teachers, etc.), etc. Rosina www.hrastovac.net
