Dear List - Even a trip to Dolaz and Temesoara did not progress my research on the STREITMATTER family. The most information i have is on Peter, my GG grandfather Peter from the Dolaz church records: STREITMATTER, Petrus, b. 28 Nov 1857, Dolaz, m. 7 Nov 1882, Nagy Sredischte (Veliko Srediste), d. 10 Sep 1937, Mt. Angel, OR His father's location is questionable: STREITMATTER, Michealus, b. 22 Sep 1824, Moritzeld [Schwarzwald], m. 23 Nov 1846, Moritzeld, (no death date/place available) The information on Michaelus was found on Ancestry.com, and I'm wondering if the Moirtzeld named actually is Moritzfeld in the Banat which is not far from either Dolaz or Veliko Srediste, probably less than 50 km. I have searched for a similar name in Germany but only come up with Moritzfeld in northern Germany not far from Dortmund. Nothing resembling that place name ever appears in the Swarzwald region. Michael's father was Anton STREITMATTER, but I have no other information for him. The Banat List members helped regarding my GG grandmother with the maiden name of ONDRISCKA when I wondered about the origin. from The Banat list pegged that name as Slovak, which indeed it turned out to be. The ONDRISCKA family came from Broczko, Nytra, Hungary which is now actually part of Slovakia. Any assistance regarding either the STREITMATTER family or the Moritzeld question would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Lee August
