Hello List: I am researching a microfilm from Family Search for one of the cities in the Banat, and I find that the Mother's maiden name is not listed in the Birth (Baptismal)records. Only the mother's first name (Maria, Anna, Margaretha or whatever) is listed. What is the reason for this? do one of the godparents have the same surname?
