Hello All, I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me if any of the original records for Lenauheim and Alexanderhausen are available to look at or if anyone might have access to them? I think I have a bit of a mess, but I'm not sure and don't know any other way to figure it out without seeing the original records. There were two Johann Dinier's (one born 1828 in Wiseschdia, the son of Kasper Dinier and Katharina Feiler; and the other born 1832 in Bogarosch, son of Johann Dinier and Katharina Wilhelm) that both married women named Katharina Speicher. The Bogarosch Familienbuch gives the marriage date for Johann Dinier, son of Johann Dinier and Katharina Wilhelm, and Katharina Speicher as 13 Sept 1858 in Lenauheim, but gives no other information on them. Johann's first marriage was to Barbara Krupitza. The online versions of the Lenauheim and Alexanderhausen Familienbuchs both give information on Johann Dinier, son of Kasper Dinier and Katharina Feiler. The Alexanderhausen page shows that this Johann was first married to Margaretha Berwanger, and then married second Katharina Speicher. It does not give a specific date for this marriage, but shows it was around 1873 (source?). There is one child, Kasper (born abt. 1860 in Lenauheim), listed for this Johann and Katharina in the Alexanderhausen book and another daughter, Katharina (born abt. 1862 in Lenauheim), in the Lenauheim online book. Because these two Johann's information is so close (both born within 4 years of each other and married women with the same name), it makes me think that maybe some assumptions were made. While I know it was not unheard of for couples to have children before they were married, these two children seem to fit with the first Johann's marriage date and place more so than the second Johann's. I'm really trying to figure out exactly who Kasper Dinier's (abt. 1860) parents actually were. If anyone can tell me if it's possible to access the original records or if there is anyone who has access to them that can check them, I would so appreciate knowing about it! Thank you so much! Amy
Amy; I have spent a couple of hours this evening puzzling over this problem. It appears clear that there are two Johann Diniers, one born in Wiseschdia and one in Bogarosch. I think the simplest explanation is that the Johann Dinier in Alexanderhausen(e.g. the one born in Wiseschdia) had only one marriage----to Margaret Berwanger. Note that the data on Katharina Speicher in the Alexanderhausen family book is rather vague and there are no actual events which ties Katharina Speicher with the Johann Dignier of Alexanderhausenin. One doesn't know what evidence Helene Schuch had to list Kath Speicher as a second wife. The Wiseschdia family book wasn't published at the time that the Alexanderhausen family book came out but she may have based it on Wiseschdia data and since there is no marriage date given it probably came from a note in the comments column of the KB birth record of Johann Dinier which may have been misinterpreted or miss recorded. Unfortunately Katharina Frank died shortly after her Wiseschdia work was published so she can hardly be consulted in this matter Microfilm of the Wiseschdia KBs up to 1852 are available from the FHL.
