    3. Oh, my goodness. I do apologize that happened. My link may be different from yours but this one works for me this morning, https://familysearch.org/search/film/008111704?cat=12657 If this does not work you can get the information this way. Go to http://familysearch.org. Look for the search menu in the upper center of the page. Now scroll down to Catalog. When the catalog opens enter Gross Jetscha in the Place field on the left. Select Austria, Banat, Groß Jetscha and click on the Search button. 3. Hi Karen, Do you have any updates to this message. Particularly items c and d below. Thanks Steve Herold -----Original Message----- From: BANAT [mailto:banat-bounces+steveds=heroldtech.com@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Karen Dalton Preston Sent: Saturday, April 15, 2017 8:34 AM To: BANAT List Subject: [BANAT-L] Stasa Cvetkovic coming to Minneapolis Dear List Members, Many of you are familiar with Mr. Stasa Cvetkovic, the well-known genealogist who specializes in Banat and Batschka research. Some of you may have heard him speak at the Mt. Angel Treffen in Oregon in 2014. Stasa will be in Minneapolis for the Int’l German Genealogy conference in July and is planning a seminar to be held either before the conference dates, or just after (the seminar will not be part of the IGGC program). I am posting the following announcement on behalf of Stasa: Mr. Staša Cvetković, Serbian genealogist specializing in Donauschwaben genealogy, will be in the Twin Cities this summer for the International German Genealogy Conference, July 28-30. We are conducting a short survey in order to plan a seminar to be presented by Mr. Cvetkovic. Please take a few minutes to reply to this survey as soon as possible. Thank you! a) Are you going to attend 2017 International Germanic Genealogy Conference from 28 – 30 July 2017 in Minneapolis? b) Would you be interested in a related genealogy event that would occur either before or after that conference? MULTIMEDIA LECTURES by experienced genealogist from Serbia, Mr. Staša Cvetković, would address some of the important topics related to the GENEALOGY OF ETHNIC GERMANS in the area of today’s Romania, south Hungary including Slavonia, and Serbia (Banat, Batschka). Some of the subjects to be covered: · Civil records repositories and access to the records which are protected by privacy protection laws (usually 100 years); · Use of land survey records in genealogy; · Closing of the remaining gaps related to the parish records in the region; · Private life of Banaters in 18th, 19th and the first half of the 20th century with the special spotlight on the Banat geography, architecture, regional cuisine, transportation and other subjects. · Your suggestions and questions related to the topics are very welcome, especially at this point of planning! c) If you are interested, which day(s) would be best to hold the lectures? Before the conference dates: Wednesday 26 July; Thursday 27 July; OR after the conference dates: Monday 31 July; Tuesday 1 August 2017? Would you attend a daylong event, or only evening(s)? We would like to point out that the most probable location for the lectures would be in South St. Paul, MN. d) The price would be $40.00 USD for early registration for the daylong event (early registration will be opened around 20 April and would last until 15 June**). After 15 June, the cost would be $50.00 USD for a day-long event registration, $30.00 USD for half of the full day event (block of 3-4 lectures). **Tentative dates. We would inform you about the exact window for the early registration. e) Mr. Staša Cvetković will be available for one-on-one genealogy consultations during his stay in Minneapolis. If you are interested, please e-mail directly to Mr. Cvetković at synergia@gmail.com <mailto:synergia@gmail.com> with the description of your interest or genealogy problem. Please also include a copy (CC) of your e-mail to the program organizer, Mrs. Vicki Albu at valbu@comcast.net <mailto:valbu@comcast.net> f) If you are interested, would you like to receive the updates about the event by e-mail? Please note that we are also planning an additional daylong seminar for Romanian Genealogy Society on one of these dates. Let us know if you would be interested in that program as well. Please reply to both Staša Cvetković synergia@gmail.com <mailto:synergia@gmail.com> and organizer Vicki Albu at valbu@comcast.net <mailto:valbu@comcast.net> as soon as possible. Thank you! 3. This is very interesting Karen, thank you for posting this message. Here is what caught my eye. - The last day to order microfilm into a Family History Center is August 31, 2017. - Yet, the remaining microfilms, may or may not be available until near the end of the conversion process in 2020. - Any newly filmed (for lack of the new technical term) will be digitized and made available online as they become ready. It does make me curious if there are any contingencies for patrons wanting to see films not yet available during this 2 1/2-year conversion process. 3. Hi Judy, With a few exceptions, you may scan through the various church books of Vienna online - up to about 1935. I give you here a link for the church in Meidling. But Vienna is a big city and Reiser a quite common name. You will have a lot of work before you. Matricula is also partly available in English (use home page: (http://data.matricula-online.eu/en/ ); but the church books are all German with some Latin; depending on the priest and the time. http://data.matricula-online.eu/de/oesterreich/wien/12-meidling/ As a second hint, you may also ask at the (closed) facebook group of "Ahnenforschung Wien" (genealogy Vienna) - use English. The group or one of the administrators (Felix Gundacker & Leopold Strenn) will certainly react to your request. 2. Those of you who have used the Dokumentationzentrum der Landesmannschaft der Banater schwaben by making their way to the upper third floor of the Obern Donaubastion which also housed the Donauschwabischen Zentralmuseum in Ulm have certainly met the supervisor, Joseph Kraemer. A notice in the May 5th issuer of the Banater Post reports the death of Joseph Kraemer(1937-2017 *Busiasch). Kraemer worked on the restoration of culturally important buildings in Romania before moving to Germany and was also known for his drawings of historical Banat houses. Dave Dreyer

    2. Yvette PERTHUISON
    3. Hello, I have an ancester Madeleine KOCH who died in Traunau the 21st November 1842. She was born in Beinheim (France) in the 23rd septembre 1791. Her parents were François Antoine KOCH et Madeleine FELS or FELZ. She got married in Beinheim with Joseph RIEGEL in 1812. He was Napoleon's soldier (Ihave no information about his carreer in the Army), he died in Paris in 1860. They had at least 2 children in Beinheim. My questions are :  -If somebody has her death certificate, I'll be very glad to have a copy - Has someone an idea why Madeleine Koch went to Traunau in 1842 ?  I hope someone will have some answer for me. Best regards Yvette Perthuison yvette.vincent@orange.fr

    2. RUDOLF HEBLING
    3. Hello Everyone,I have been able to follow my grandfather's line, Johann Keller k. 136 Billed, up to the point where his great-grandfather came to Billed from Gross Jetscha with his wife and 3 children. Here is his information from the Billed book:k. 226 Christian Khoeler (Keller)  possibly born 1791           married to Christina Jochen (Jochem) (Jocham) born 28.10.1791, daughter of Conr. Jocham and A. Pecker            3 children may have been born in Gross Jetscha:               Carolina Khoeler born 1812               Anna Khoeler born 1823 (seems like too big of a gap)               Georgius also born 1823The next 4 children were born in Billed. I tried to do an inter-library loan of the Gross Jetscha book but the Library of Congress would not lend it out.I was able to do that with the Billed book a number of years ago before it went online.I would be very grateful for any information especially if it leads to where the family came from in Germany.Sincerely,Christa Hebling

    2. Suzanne, I was pleasantly surprised to receive your message on the Saltpeter Revolutionaries. As you probably know there have been a number of studies in the last decade or so, of these guys. You are certainly aware, as well, that your Martin Berger, along with his wife and six kids, were banned to the Banat after they were forced to sell their propriety in the Hotzenwald. The family settled in Umbach and the details are available in Anton Kraemer’s Ulmbach family book. Are you a subscriber to the Banat mailing list? (*16.02.1769 Neubeschenowa) & Magdalena HERMANN (*21.12.1772 Sackelhausen). She is the the 5th of 10 children. I didn’t find Katharina’s marriage in Neubeschenowa.
