Dear Banaters, I've been away from the List for a while, lots going on. Recently, tho, while poking around hoping for a breakthrough regarding my brick-wall paternal great grandfather from Ernsthausen, I came across a possible listing of his death on Family Search and Find-a-Grave. His name is Konrad Hoh/Heh, and a person of this name shows up at the Langemark German Military Cemetery in Flanders, in Belgium. The death date is given as November 17, 1914, which fits in with the last listing I have for him, when he attended the wedding of one of his daughters in Ernsthausen in 1913. So I'm wondering if this is even feasible, that he might have been conscripted into the German army in WW-1, and let out for his daughter's wedding, then back to the war? And, does anyone have any experience with this cemetery, for example, is there any hope that there might be some background info on him from when he was buried, and any suggestions you might have. Or any military offices where I might inquire, that might have draft data? I have great info on him from Stasa's Ernsthausen records, on the birth of all his children, but no marriage dates, no parental info or birth year (my best guess for DOB is between 1845 - 1860).(And I just got the Ernsthausen FBs, but no new info on him there). However, when his wife Katharina died 1892, the Grabatzer Mathias Weismüller went towards Modosch and married there Elisabeth Ignatz from Johannisfeld. I have a Mathias (Matyas) Khaib (Kaip) born 1849 in Offsenitza and having two wives,  Katharina Schummer and Margaretha Zyer.  It recently h has come to my attention that a Matyasma Woog may be a third wife??  I have not been able to trace her.  There is also a son connected with the name Mathias Kaip b. 1888 that may have a connection.  Any thoughts on this?  I could not find their names in the Offsenitza family book. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus
