I will second what Glenn said. I was on the tour. Stasa and Sorin were excellent hosts, they went out of their way to help us. Also Glenn put an immense effort into planning the tour so everyone had an enjoyable time. I appreciate the responses that I have been getting, regarding a good Banat map. I am aware of the dvhh map and I use it constantly. What I neglected to mention is that I am looking for a 'real' map. One that I can hang on my wall or use anytime. One that I can purchase. If there are others of you that know, please let me know. Thank you for all of the responses that I have received so far. Dear List - Special thanks to Werner & Pierre who patiently provided precisely what I needed in terms of insight and info on my gggg grndmthr Anna Margaretha Mittler's family in Ulmbach, for which I am most grateful! Turns out of those ten pages, she is related to the vast majority, and we have found another 2 generations, back to original settler Joh. Georg Mittler of Trierischen b um 1709, who was first married in 1738 in Tscherwenka. Am still curious however, whether there are many Werschings covered in Ulmbach (have made some headway - WK 44/40 thanks to Karen/Tschanad reference, but still trying to connect back to Flacker work, as yet unsuccessfully.) It's been GREAT hunting! Many, many thanks to all who so generously give their time! Hello Researching Friends, Dr. Geiger's latest book "Das Schicksal der Jugoslawiendeutschen in der Kroatischen und Serbischen Literatur" just came into my hands, where he elegantly weaves between books published by various Croatian and Serbian authors all describing the lives and times of the Danube Swabians living in their midst before, during and after WWII war. The book is written in German and Croatian. ISBN 978-953-99941-4-1, 2009. It is interesting to see just how much it was already published in recent years. Well known names also: Predrag Adamov, Ludwig Bauer, Ivan Brajdic, Vladimir Geiger, Damilo Kiš, Mladen Markov, Josip Palada, Mišo Slavonac, Aleksander Tišna, Pavle Uginov, Johannes Weidenheim, just to name a few. To order the book, please write to: geiger@isp.hr See you all in Mt. Angel, Rosina www.hrastovac.net

Hi everyone- Is there anyway to find vital record information for Mramorak after 1866? I have exhausted David Kemles resources on his website and the Mramorak books that I have been able to find. I am relatively new to researching this area so I am at a loss as to what to try next. Here is my situation: My great grandmother Elisabeth Kaschuba (1884-1917) and her brother Frederick Kaschuba (1877-1933) left Mramorak in 1901. By 1862 all of their aunts and uncles had died (all before age 10) and their grandfather had died as well. Their grandmother married again in 1863. I am trying to figure out how to find: their grandmother's date of death their mother and father's date of death any other siblings - their parents married in 1869 so there must be have been other children Any suggestions are extremely appreciated. Thanks! Karen
