    2. Martha, Thanks for your response. However ----- I had already been to the Genea Net site - and, does eveyone realize that the lists on that site are not the same as in the familienbuch???? I have several copies of other names from the Lenauheim book and when I've compared the names on Genea Net, many of them are not even listed!!! That is why I ask again, PLEASE will someone with a Lenauheim book look up Susanna Allar for me? 1. Re: [BANAT-L] Mt. Angel Treffen Strudel video
    2. I might have missed it but is there a written recipe for the strudel made in the video class. I remember making it with my mother as a child. The last time I helped make apple strudel was in the afternoon after my grandmothers funeral when I was 12. A couple of years ago one of my cousins sent me a copy of the picture made that day of myself with my aunts pulling the dough on the kitchen table. I must confess I enjoyed making it more than eating it. Also, in the video someone asked her what type of flour she was using and I couldn't make out the answer. I did hear her say it has more gluten in it. Would that be pastry flour? 3. The recipes for Leah's strudel dough and the fillings are on the banatbooks.com web site. Go to the Treffen page where you viewed the video. In the list of links under Friday's date, you will see "Strudel Recipes". Leah uses Bread flour, since it has more gluten than all-purpose flour. It is the gluten that forms that allows the dough to stretch. 1. [BANAT-L] DS books
    2. Rosina T Schmidt
    3. Hello Fellow Researchers, While at the Mt. Angel DS conference I was lucky to obtain two books, one at the silent auction, and both of them describing the life 'back home' and the flight to freedom from Tito's starvation camps: Magdalena Gärtner - Sheltered in the Shadow of Your Wings - translated into English - purchasing through Arlene Prunkel at arlie272@gmail.com and Anton Krämer - Von Ulmbach im Banat nach Ingelheim am Rhein (in German) - am not sure if there is an English version. Both of them quite an eye opener and excellent to broaden our understanding of what misfortune and atrocities our people had to endure. Specifically Krämer has a lovely humour and refreshed my memories of the vocabulary I heard my grandma use, like Zwerchhaus (L-shaped building); Kaule (originally the hole where the lime was dug out for building material and later filled with water to form a pond). die Heerische (non agricultural professions, like pastors, doctors, teachers, etc.), etc. Rosina www.hrastovac.net

    3. I am not sure if this is a repeat for me in regard to these Horvaths or not. I have a Josef Horvath that most likely was born around 1845-1853 possibly in Batschka Petrovoszello. He was married to Anna Tüski and they had approx. 10 children mostly born in Petrovoszello although I can not find a record there for Imre whom my father said was the oldest child born around 1872, so I am thinking they were somewhere else before coming to Petrovoszello and of course I am wondering if it could be the village mentioned in this post below. Please let me know if there is possibly some connection - Horvath is such a common name in that area and I don't know how close these other villages are to Petrovoszello or anything about migration in that particular area. 3. In the Zerne Familienbuch, I have a Maria Horvath, born 1840 in Gottlob, who married my great great great grandfather Michael Kintsch (born 1835 Gottlob). On page 468-473 there are 6 pages of HORVATH -- from Hettin, Tomsdorf, Hellburg-Arad, Parda, Ittebe, Endre Major, Ruskodorf, Kis Rokos, Julia Major, Senta, Sajan, Ottevesy, Mezogyom, Hatzfeld, Ebendorf and Nakodorf. 3. Amy; Since Anna Rollinger was not born in Kriva Bara, I would think the next best guess would be Ernsthausen. There was a Johann Rollinger and wife Katharina Kungel, living at Ernsthausen HN 43 in the 1871 Ernsthaussen Grundbuch records so we know that Rollinger is a surname associated with Ernsthausen.
