Hi David, There is a strong Horvath line in Darowa. I checked, but I could not find your Lorenz. However, you might find more Horvaths in the surrounding villages. It might be worth asking for a look-up in Gizeladorf, Bakowa, Nitzkydorf, Lugoj, etc. I am sorry that I could not be of more help. Cathy Teufel O'Neill

Hello All, Someone posted a list of the residents in Ernsthausen in 1830, but I can't figure out what the list is? Can someone please take a look at the list and see if they might know what it is? http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1119508345048905732iElDPK http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1119510222048905732aWfwjW Thanks so much! I would appreciate it! Amy -- "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
Hi Dave, You might have more luck if you put together all the information that's been posted on the list over the years and ask a more directed questions about Lorenz and Anna. From looking through all the information, it appears that there's quite a lot to go on and I think there's many pieces of their lives that could be gathered to put together the puzzle of where they originated from. And as for the Ernsthausen records - you're not going to find anything in those early Ernsthausen records as they only go until 1828, when they established their own parish. You need the 1830's records which are in the archives in Novi Sad. From looking at everything, I'd wager that's where both Lorenz Horvath and Anna Rollinger were both born. I think until the Ernsthausen records are copied, you're probably not going to find their births in other villages (although I think there's still quite a lot of information you could gather from the records in the other villages). You could always contact one of the researchers in Serbia to look up their births in the archives. I'd be willing to bet you'd find them there. The Surnames are Rollinger, Horvath and Reimschneider (Riemschneider). To refresh the list's memory, Anna Rollinger was born somewhere in the 1830s (location not known at this point, married Lorenz Horvath in about 1856 and died in 1877. I have researched the microfilm for Ernsthausen and did not find her name there. Lorenz (Lorencz) Horvath was born about 1836, remarried Eva Lutz after Anna Rollinger died, Arrived in New York on the Ship Dresden on 21 Nov. 1893 coming from Bremen with his wife Eva and 3 daughters (Age 54). He died 6 April 1915 either in Mt. Angel or Gervais, Oregon. Anna Reimschneider (Riemschneider) was born about 5 March 1840, married Mathias Ehrenreich and they migrated to this country in 1897. They traveled on the Ship Bonn going from Bremen to Baltimore and arrived 2 December 1897. Anna was 56. they immediately went to Lincoln, IL. She died 24 February 1924 in Marshfield, Wood Co. Wisconsin. Supposedly both the Horvath and Ehrenreich families came from Josefsdorf, but most likely they were not born there. I looked at Dave Dreyer's Banat Ship list "Emigration from Banat in the National Archives Ship Records" to get the information on their arrival in the United States. I have found a lot of information in a website involiving research done by a Mr. Palanka. In that website, I found probably the whole list of cities that are in the Banat, which ones have family books, and which ones have websites. I am hoping that this website may help me more as well as the Donauschwaben Research Exchange. I thank the list for all their help in trying to knock down these brick walls. Sincerely, Dave Weinfurtner ------------------------------------- Ehebuch(-buecher) . marriage register. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to DONAUSCHWABEN-VILLAGES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

Hello All, I would like to ask if there is anyone I have not been in contact with that is interested in the Ernsthausen Parish records? We've been working to identify where all the records are and hopefully have copies made of them. Marta Istvan has been able to copy the baptisms for Ernsthausen from May 1881 - May 1894 and would appreciate an email if anyone is interested in a copy of them. Thanks much, Amy Nichols -- "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."

Dear List, in the article about the Josefsdorfer Heimattreffen, 1985 in Augsburg, was reported that Mr. Josef Köllmel from America was there. (Banater Post from o5. August 1985, page 11-12). At that time he was in age of a pensioner. He emigrated to North America before Second World War. But in the Heimatbuch Josefsdorf, 1986 from Hans Klein, he was not his listed in the address-list. In the area of Castor in Canada also some Josefsdorfer homesteaded. Has anyone an idea where Mr. Josef Köllmel lived or what the last informations about him existed? Thank you very much to all for any help. Werner Weissmüller _____ I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter <http://www.spamfighter.com/len> . SPAMfighter has removed 4775 of my spam emails to date. Anna, Sorry I duplicated your transcription; I did not see your reply until after I sent one, too. My apologies for the duplication. Would someone be kind enough to look up the following in the Grabatz Familienbuch Jakob Hugel and his wife Anna Maria, if they are in the book. Their first child's name was Elizabeth Hugel born in 1767. Maybe in Gajdobra, Backa. Their second child had the same name and was born 9-8-1771 and probably baptized in Zichydorf. I do not know their birthdates, their marriage date, or their date of death. All together they had 8 children Thank you for your help. Jozef Svetlik
Many, many thanks to all listers who responded to my search for the name of the church in Lovrin. This is the church where my mother and her sister, Anna were Baptized. One of Anna's grandchildren actually used "Lovrin" as middle name for his daughter! So much, does this family want to keep the memory of their heritage alive. Another grand- daughter is having the photo of the church blown-up and will give it to each of her siblings (with the name on the bottom) as a Christmas gift this year. I am sure the curiosity of the name "Emily Lovrin" Rice, along with the picture will keep the memory of the Banat alive for many generations. Anne from Phila.
