    3. Thank you so much Karen! Amazing. Yes, I have the Deutsch-Zerne books. What I didn't know was the death date for Peter Oster and also that he had two more children. I am also helping a woman in Wisconsin who is a descendant of Peter Oster. She did know any of this. So, two people are happy today. 3. Dear List users, After approximately a week of being off-line, the Banat-L mailing list is back! In case you did not know, all of AncestryDotCom suffered what is called a Distributed Denial of Attack (DDOA). This is caused by hacker(s) repeatedly sending hundreds of thousands of requests per second to the Ancestry servers in an attempt to “swamp” the Servers, thus crashing them. The list servers were the last area that Ancestry worked on to restore, and they are all now stable. It would appear that no messages were lost. 3. Would anyone happen to have recently purchased a "Mein liebes Donauschwabenland" & "Heimatgrüße Walzer" 7" record from eBay ([email protected])? If so, I was wondering if there's any way you could tell me whether or not those songs have lyrics. Our director's part has "gesang" marked at the trio. Anyway, the Cleveland Donauschwäbische Blaskapelle is rehearsing both "Mein liebes Donauschwabenland" and "Heimatgrüße Walzer" for the upcoming fest season, and would like to include the vocals, but unfortunately we don't have the lyrics. We were literally in the process of purchasing the record, but because of a bit of confusion on the seller's behalf (regarding shipping and payment, &c.) someone beat us to the punch, so to speak. Any assistance you would be willing to provide would be greatly appreciated. 3. Toni -- I've been away and am just now reading some e-mails. I don't have information on your Josef ... however, I do have the Wilhelm & Kalbrunner CD which lists people who registered in Vienna. No Josef's but perhaps he was a son or grandson of one of these. 1. Anton Furst -- about 1765 - von (from) Clashofen out of Mainzifchen 2. Christian Furst -- von(of) Branichweiler aus dem (out of) Nassauifchen about 1785 3. Frank Furst -- von (of) Clashofen aus dem (out of) Mainzifchen 4. Melchior Furst -- of Breitenbach aus dem Romifchen Reich ca. 1765 (translates I believe Roman Empire) 5. Lenhardt First -- Reich (Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation) May 1764 Re: Clashofen -- I believe this starts with the letter C; sometimes it is hard to decipher the old handwriting. There is a Glashofen in Germany ... but the letter does look like a C. I know this does not give specific information on your Josef but I thought you would like to know where others with that surname lived. 3. Roy Perhaps you are refering to "Quellen zur deutschen Siedlungsgeschichte in Suedosteuropa" Hundreds of copies of this publication on a CD were distributed to Banat list subscribers several years ago. I would imagine that everyone who had an interest in this area has a copy of the publication Dave Dreyer ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roy W Shiflet" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 16, 2014 8:40 AM Subject: Re: [BANAT-L] BANAT Digest, Vol 9, Issue 122 > Dave, What is the name of the series of books from Vienna that detail the > names of the individuals migrating. > I will be at the Library of Congress later this month and can do any look > up > for our guests > Roy Shiflet > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On > Behalf Of [email protected] > Sent: 06/15/14 3:01 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: BANAT Digest, Vol 9, Issue 122 > > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. 1. [BANAT-L] Banat map
    2. Has Höfer Verlag published the map of the southern Banat yet? The map for the northern part is very useful. George
