    1. Re: [BANAT-L] Jost in Kathreinfeld
    2. Timothy Ottinger via
    3. Dave, thank you so much for the information you sent on the Jost family.  Since my first message of Aug 4 I have continued to search and based on marriage records for sons Nicholaus, George & John I was able to determine the two wives for Johann Jost:  1.  Barbara Reiter and 2. Roslia Repp.  I do not know how Juliana Harti fits in this family at this point.  Following is the information I have so far based on what I have found and what you have sent: JOST,JOSZT/YOST, Johann *27 May 1855 Kathreinfeld, + ? (I think he & Rosalia went back to Kathreinfeld) 1.oo Barbara Reiter 25 Nov 1878 Kathreinfeld Children:  1. Maria (Mary) Jost *13.4.1880 Hungary + 4.1955 Worth, Sanilac Co., Mi.           oo  Joseph Putz (I am not sure her year of birth is correct) 2.  Nicholaus Joszt *30.10.1881 Kathreinfeld +9.1.1941 Cleveland, Ohio       oo Sophia Sperzel 3.  Jacob Jost *18.1.1887 Torontal Co., Hungary + 10.1.1961 Geauga Co.       Ohio.  oo Marianna Heckenberger.  It is some time after Jacob's                        birth that Barbara Reiter died. 4.  Barbara Yost oo  unknown Mueller/Miller.  I do not know if      Barbara's mother is Barbara Reiter or Rosalia Repp. 5.  Magdalena Joszt - *abt 1877 Hungary + ? oo Kaspar Pretz  The only reason I have attached Magdalena to this family is she, Kaspar and their 3 children arrived in the U.S. 17 Sept 1904 along with Johann & Rosalia Jost and they were all going to Nicholaus Jost in Cleveland.  Kaspar said he was going to his brother-in-law & Johann said he was going to his son.  After the Pretz family arrived here I cannot find anything else on them other than another ship manifest dated 14 Nov 1910 Magdalena arriving alone in N.Y. & she listed her father as Johann Jost, Kathreinfeld. Based on that I have assumed Johann & Rosalia went back to Kathreinfeld. 2oo  Rosalia Repp Children:  1. George Yost *1.5.1893 Kathreinfeld+ 30.1.1961 Cleveland oo Eva     Senn 2. John Jacob Yost *15.7.1895 Kathreinfeld + 25.9.1978 Brevard Co.,     Fla., oo Anna M Gallo. I looked on the FHC site to see if there were any microfilms for Kathreinfeld but couldn't find any.  Is that correct - there are none?  Thanks again for all your help. 3. I believe we had 15 attendees at the Banat get-together in the Twin Cities this past weekend (a bunch of Donauschwaben plus three Romanian friends). That's pretty good with less than a week's notice. There was excellent conversation about regional history, towns, families, and food. A good time was had by all. Thanks to Steve Herold for coming to town and spurring us to this impromptu gathering. Regards,Charlie Tiller > ------------------------------ > > Message: 3 > Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2014 16:25:29 -0500 > From: Charlie Tiller <[email protected]> > Subject: [BANAT-L] DS-TwinCities get-together this week > > For those on the Banat mailing list who reside in/near Minnesota but may not be on the DS-TwinCities mailing list, there will be an informal get-together this week to meet with Steve Herold and share whatever new nuggets or experiences our fellow Banaters may have had recently. This event came up quickly and is very much a friendly group date rather than a formal meeting. Anyone with a regional interest will be welcome (i.e., not limited to Donauschwaben ancestry).
