    2. PG Baitz
    3. Hello Karen, A tremendous thank you for this detailed information. Those names and dates do appear to match up perfectly with my great-grand-parents and establishes further my great-great-grand-parents. So very happy to see these connections. There is a definite interest to see the further information on this family connection going further back too. And that area of Ostern and Bogarosch are certainly right next to one another, and very close to Hetin where Michael Baitz had his house in 1926. Some more information for you... From my grandfather Anton Baitz, I have a handwritten letter (in German / Austrian dialect) from him to my father in 1978 (my father kept many of his old letters), mentioning that the Baitz name was changed in Wien (Vienna) from Beitz to Baitz (perhaps a clerical change), and that the name and family is related to Johannes Beitz and Maria Barbara from 1670 who were in Gehlweiler, Germany. I looked into this, and found an online account of poet Janos Pilinszky whose family traced a marriage connection back to the same Johnnes Beitz and Maria Barbara connection and subsequent Baitz's. ( URL [https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilinszky_J%C3%A1nos ) ](https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilinszky_J%C3%A1nos)I don't know what my grandfather's source was for his written letter account to my father, but the names and years match. But the Pilinszky account of Beitz/Baitz drops to another branch of Baitz's not related to mine. We also found an Anton Baitz in the "Banaters in Austria Military Records" volume VI, who died in 1849, but was born in Warjasch (in or near Timisoara/Temeswar where the record says he died) Banat -- but we have no established connection with him other than his name Anton Baitz was same as my grandfather, and my grandfather's brother. Sincere thank you, and I am very interested to see the additional information in the Ostern and Bogarosch books. 1. [BANAT-L] The Familienbuch Ernsthausen is finished – Pre-Order Your Copy Now!
    2. Karen Dalton Preston
    3. Dear List members, The long-awaited book for the village of Ernsthausen is now completed! The cost is estimated at 65 euros, plus shipping and PayPal fees. The publisher asks that you RESERVE YOUR COPY NOW so that they can get a clear idea of how many copies to print. Please note: Pre-orders should be sent to Achim Reiter directly at his email - achimreiter@gmx.de <mailto:achimreiter@gmx.de> You may write to him in English. Please do not send your orders to me. The publication notice from Achim Reiter follows with more details on the books. —Karen Preston Familienbuch Ernsthausen by Hans Repp – Reservations Now Being Taken Hans Repp has done an outstanding job of preparing and bringing the Family Book Ernsthausen to print. The Family Book covers the time of Ernsthausen's founding in 1822 to the end of the community in 1945. Of course, the time gaps in the available documentation must be taken into consideration, especially since most of the original church registers have been lost or are missing. Until 1828, all records were kept in Sartscha. The records were also incorporated, as were the records for dissolved community Kiss-Maria (recorded in the Pardan records). After the establishment of their own Parish in 1828, Ernsthausen kept their own church registers. The basis for the processed materials are the duplicate copies of the original entries, which had to be delivered to the Diocese, and can be found today in the Staatsarchiv in Novi Sad. Individual years were not found and a greater time-period between 1868 and 1879 was unfortunately no longer available. Only a minimal part of the original Church books could be located. The author has, despite the scattered source locations, created a comprehensive work with many references to the original communities. He did this by including and referring to many of the other Banater communities and their records, even partially including them in this book. The lists in the Ernsthausen Heimatbuch von Schag Lisa (Elisabeth Flassak) were also incorporated in the book. The work consists of a 2 volume set with 1,100 pages. For the release of this Family Book, we need to estimate the number of orders for this edition. We urgently ask for firm reservations ASAP. We are currently estimating a price of about 65 €, plus shipping and any additional PayPal fees. This price is based on a minimum press run of 100 copies. The price might become more favorable with a larger press run. We expect to go to print by the end of 2017 and begin shipping in January 2018, after receipt of your payment. Please submit your reservation with your name, address and telephone number to: Achim Reiter Arbeitskreis fuer Veroeffenlichung Banater Familienbuecher (AVBF) Knappenweg 32, 70569 Stuttgart GERMANY You may also place your reservation by email: achimreiter@gmx.de or by FAX 01149-711-2478141

    3. Hallo Michele,   there is a family book Neu-und Groß-St. Peter (=Raaz-St. Peter) from 1809 to 1852 and there I found Jakob Friedrich born 6. Mai 1844, is that yours? He is the son of Georg Friedrich and Barbara Berger with two sibblings and 5 siblings from the first wife Margaretha Baum. There are more ancestors in this family book. A family book with dates after 1852 does not exist, the church books are in the archive of Temesvar, today Timisoara. I saw them when I visited this archive in the last years.   Regards from Germany Anni         Gesendet: Mittwoch, 08. 3. Hello Tina, have a great Kirchweih! If there is a chance, ask people if someone was related to, I believe two Karlsdorfer Mayer families who moved to Sartscha to work, as I believe in a local brickyard. One of them was Georg Mayer (b. in 1848 or 1852), married to Katharina Dekorszy. Chances are slim that someone would know, but you never know ... If you forget about it, no problem, just have a good time! :) Staša On Sun, Nov 5, 2017 at 9:33 PM, tina leto <tleto@id.iit.edu> wrote: > The Karlsdorfer Klub of Chicago will hold their 62nd Kirchweih on November > 19, 2017 > at: > Donauschwaben Halle > 625 E. 3. Banat researchers were incredibly helpful and supportive of my efforts when I began my ancestral search that I’d like to return the favor. I own the two-volume Moritzfeld im Banat familienbuch published in 2016 and am willing to do look-ups. My Streitmatter people took up less than 2 pages and more use needs to come from these volumes. 3. I have had 2 off-list messages confirming that the 6-volume set is in the collection at the FHL in SLC. The family books are based on the church records that are on-line, but since the records aren’t indexed, you’d have to go thru the images to search for the info you want. I am sure that there are folks on the Banat List that have purchased the Hatzfeld books, and would do a look-up. If you want to request look-up, just please be specific. Please list what info you already know, and what specific information you are looking for. A request for all the info on the SCHMIDTs in Hatzfeld is pretty vague, and is not likely to get you a response. —Karen > On Nov 5, 2017, at 2:03 PM, Gary K <flash_no_1@hotmail.com> wrote: > > First, thanks a lot for the info. You are so jind to answer so quickly. It is rumored Sorin has the info for Hatzfeld, but my contact with him has been very erratic. Go to their website, select Search, select Catalog, and enter “Hatzfeld” in the field for “Place”. Select the one in Austria, Banat (there is also a Hatzfeld in Prussia). Please note the records on-line are digital images of the Church book pages, are not indexed, and only cover up to 1851. > > Hope that helps, > —Karen > > >> On Nov 5, 2017, at 12:30 PM, Gary K <flash_no_1@hotmail.com <mailto:flash_no_1@hotmail.com>> wrote: >> >> Was that the latest version?
