Ruth, I received this information this morning, there should be records in the orphan Court which is the Register of Wills. Maybe you could find information there about your mother. She was placed in the United Patriotic Home on Druid Hill Ave. and then Maryland Orphanage at Eden and either Biddle or Chase St. After that she was in foster homes mostly, it sounded to me, as an unpaid laborer. I don't believe any records are still available. If you should learn otherwise, please let me know.
