Robin, In 1850 Ward 9 was the area bounded by Baltimore St. on the north, the Jones Falls on the east, the City Limits to Pratt St. on the south, and Charles St. on the west. The ward boundaries were changed in 1860, but I'm not certain that the changes were effective for the 1860 Census. If not, the 1850 Ward configuration continued In 1860 Ward 9, changed to the area bounded by Franklin St. on the north, Jones Falls on the east, Pratt St. on the south, and Charles St. on the west. (Not too much of a change). The next change in the Ward map did not occur until 1882, so for 1870 and 1880 use the 1960 configuration.
