Hi Everyone, I'm new to this list. I'm searching for Samuel N. Riston (1871-1954), md. Katherine R. Gosman (1901 NJ) and had the following children: Clarence (1902), Valma (1904), Charles (1905), Walter (1910), and Earl (1912). All were born in Baltimore. According to the 1920 Census (he's listed as Saul Ruston on Ancestry's index) he and both of his parents were born in MD. I have not found him on any previous census. I searched through the BALTGEN-L archives and found several different (at least I think they are different) lines of Ristons. I'm hoping we fit in there somewhere. My Grandfather Samuel N. was born 1871 and was left an orphan-at what age I don't know. I have a picture of his father taken in a Baltimore studio. Also a picture of his mother which on the back says: "Mary Sinclair, mother of S. N. Riston. He may have had a sister Jeannie. He also had two cousins, Katie and Cora Riston - another picture (1949) is my source which includes my dad and myself and states 3rd Cousins" I don't know 3rd cousins to whom.
