Well, I must jump in here, as I have lived my entire life in Catonsville, which is the neighbor of Ellicott City. Catonsville being in Baltimore County, separated by the Patapsco River, and Howard County to the West of Catonsville, which is definately where Ellicott City is, and has been since the later 1600's. The far west end of Catonsville, is the town of Oella, which folks there have an Ellicott City telephone exchange's & zip code, and a lot of them like to say they live in Ellicott City. And also the town of Oella, being the home of Benjamin Baneker.
