I am stuck, and thought I'd turn to all you knowledgeable people for advice. I had 3 listings from the 1880 census index [MD] that I wished to look up on ancestry.com. Although I did not have the Enumeration District for any of them, I did manage to find 2 on ancestry's 1880 census pages. Naturally the 3rd one, whom I cannot locate, may be my gr-grandmother whom I'm trying to track down, with great difficulty I might add! One of the listings was for Annie McKenny, possible sister of my gr-grandmother. Her index listing showed "12 Ward Precinct 4 p. 114D; Roll T9-0501" [Baltimore]. The other, "my" Minnie McKenny, only showed "Roll T9-0501, p. 394D" [Baltimore]. She was living w/ the Patten family. Although I again did not have the ED, I thought since her listing was on the same roll as Annie's, I'd be able to move from ED to ED [on ancestry] until I found the right page number. Well, when I FINALLY got to the right page number, she wasn't there---and I was now on Roll 502 [not 501]. I did backtrack a bit, and fiddled with the URL to extend the ending image # of that Roll...to no avail. [When I got to where I thought I should be, there was a box saying ancestry did not have those images available.] Does anyone know if ancestry is missing some pages from Roll 501, or if it moves on to a completely different [out of order] ED? Any advice as to how I can find that census page? All I really want to know is her pob and her parents' pob---which of course is not shown on the index. <sigh> Thanks in advance for your help. ...Kim Danielsen Yuma, AZ
