Gunpowder Baptist in Freeland is about 16 miles north of Gunpowder Quaker Meeting House straight up Rte 83. Gunpowder Quaker Meeting House is on Priceville Road, pretty much by itself. There's another church in site but defiitely not across the street and besides I'm certain that is Bosley United Methodist. There are plenty of tombstones at Gunpowder Quaker Cemetery and although they are not at all decorative, they definitely do have names & dates on them and it appeared to me when I last visited it that families were in groups of some sort. It is not a large cemetery. If the church, Gunpowder Baptist, does not have records you might check with the Maryland Historical Society to see if there are any published records of that cemetery/church or if they know where records might be kept. http://www.mdhs.org/ They should be able to help you (for a fee). And if anyone who lives in that part of the county is willing to do a tombstone transcription we would certainly welcome it to the Tombstone Transcription Project.
