    1. [BALTGEN-L] METCALF(E) Researchers (1770s-1800s)
    2. David Metcalfe
    3. Folks, I'm looking to connect with METCALF(E) researchers in Maryland. I badly need help and advice from fellow METCALFE researchers! Questions: 1) Do you have a "Vincent METCALFE" of KY in your data? 2) What MD counties should I spend time in for 1770-1810 METCALFE research, if I have only one visit of a few days? (I hope to visit in April. I'm from Seattle.) 3) What are the best record/literary places for METCALFE research in MD? 4) Any advice on how I may make the leap I describe below without knowing the father's given name? ------------------------- My trouble... My GGGgrandfather Vincent METCALFE was born in Bourbon County, Kentucky, about 1807. (He married Nancy CUMMINS in 1832.) All I know of Vincent's parents is from the 1880 census records that lists his father being from Maryland and mother begin from Kentucky. I've just about exhausted all avenues of identifying Vincent's father from a KY perspective. The only lead I have is that the Cpt John METCALFE descendents were well established in Bourbon County in the early 1800s, but I have not been able to make a connection with known research. Facts: 1) Unknown METCALFE moved from MD to KY before 1807 2) Unknown METCALFE lived in Bourbon Co, KY, in 1807 3) Unknown METCALFE married in KY 4) Unknown METCALFE had son Vincent born in KY 5) Unknown METCALFE may have had a daughter Mary Ann 6) Vincent was poor and not educated Thank you and kind regards, David Metcalfe __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
