Hi Lee, I am so glad you wrote. I lost your e-mail address when my old computer crashed. Please do add the transcriptions pertaining to the Medora explosion. I wanted to send copies to you anyway for your project. Were you thinking of extracting the information for the death notices or adding the entire transcription somewhere else on your project page? I am considering redoing my webpage and adding a link called "Baltimore Disasters" with links to the transcriptions. I have been researching and collecting all the newspaper articles that I can find on the Medora and would like to transcribe all the papers I have. Am I ok legally transcribing the entire newspaper articles? I don't want to get into any legal trouble over this. I know that by copyright law I can't transcribe anything after 1929 I believe but I want to make sure I am allowed to transcribe the entire 1842 articles. Lee, if you would like I can send copies directly to you as I transcribe the accounts, but its a little tricky because there are a few instances where a person was declared dead in one paper and the next day a correction would be in the paper that the person was still living. In other cases, the name of the person was incorrect and a correction was placed in the newspaper the following day. Thanks a bunch, Dee Gabler > Dee, if you do not mind, I would like to add your transcript to the data on > the USGenWeb page > www.rootsweb.com/~mdbaltim > > Lee > CC
