Hi Tim, Would greatly appreciate if you could check on man named Frank or Frances X. Schmidtman. He is my mystery grandfather, who died long before I was born (died in 1923). I understand that he might have done extensive wood working in St. Patrick's Church. His occupation listed in the Baltimore Directory of 1878 as a "scroll sawyer." Sawyer means carpenter, I believe. I don't know if he attended the church as well or just worked in it. Before my aunt died she told me that he "practically built the church." Whatever that means. Whatever you can find out would be fantastic. His wife, my grandmother's name was Ida Louise White Schmidtman.(from Germany) They had 3 children. George Charles, Louis Frank and Florence Elizabeth Ganley Schmidtman. Other then his name and dob, everything on death certificate reads unknown. He might have been married prior to Ida.
