    3. Tim, I know the church was still asking that question of couples getting married, in the 1950"s. Especially if one of them was of a different faith other than Catholic. Some priests would have them sign a paper agreeing to have the children raised as Catholic. Kind of funny, but that's okay. The beginning of the CD stated that "Records of Marriages from 1825 to 1872..... N.B.- No record has been found of many marriages in the years 1867-"68" & "69", from Saint Patricks Roman Cathokic Church. I've tried to find BARRETT, but haven't had much luck because parts of these records are poor quality, and very dark trying to read the names. I was somewhat amused by the question that was put to each marriage couple before the vowels. The Priest had written at the head of the record : Question, Do you promise to have all your children ( should you be blessed with any) brought up in the various Catholic faiths and not to interfere with the religious beliefs of your partner?
