    1. Re: St. Paul's Fifth German Reformed Church
    2. Hi Lisa: I'm just getting caught up on my e-mails after being unavailable for a few days, so I don't know if anyone has answered your question. First, thanks for visiting the MdGenSoc site including Pauline Leitner's data bases. Secondly, St. Paul's Fifth German Reformed Church, closed many, many years ago. The surviving original records are housed at the E&R Church Archives in Lancaster (Philipp Schaaf Library). I don't believe that any of these records has been microfilmed. Secondly, unless the burial information is specifically stated, you're not going to learn about burial place from the St. Paul's records. St. Paul did have a church cemetery, it was very small and fell into disuse, being basically abandoned. Recently it has been "revived" (can you revive a cemetery?!) but my understanding is that the original records are either gone or otherwise not accessible. Your best bet is to get the death certificate which would include a burial place. Many 19th-century protestant Germans from Baltimore City were buried in the following cemeteries: Baltimore, Mt. Carmel, Trinity and St. Matthews. Of course, there is nothing exclusive about this list. Hope this is helpful to you. Happy New Year. From the burials there is a listing for Rosa Reding who died 6 Dec. 1889. What cemetery would she be buried in? Thank you, Lisa Lockett
