Several years ago I went to the Methodist Museum at the church on St Paul Street to find out about Rev. George C. M. Roberts because he married my great grandparents in 1834 (Mitchell Evans - Margaret Oram.) There were two Rev Roberts, father and son. Unfortunately I didn't write that part into my database. If I come across the notes I will email them. But I do remember that one of them was primarily a medical doctor who gave his time to church ministering as he was also a minister. They had a circuit with many "stations" or small meeting places where they gave sermons and performed marriages - sometimes in homes because formal churches were not available. There was a Light Street Church which was the base of operation. That church burned and was rebuilt on Lovely Lane several miles further out of Baltimore. Now Lovely Lane is within Baltimore City and called St Paul Street which is where the Methodist Museum is located. For additional information and to verify what I have said you could call Lovely Lane Methodist Museum and Archives located at 2200 St Paul St, Baltimore, MD 21218, 410-889-4458. There is an interesting webpage about the church and museum at http://www.lovelylanemuseum.com/ Jean On 1/26/06, mona everett <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello! > > I MAY have a break in a brickwall!
