Gail, Most likely it was referring to New Cathedral Cemetery, which is the largest Catholic Cemetery in Baltimore. The old "Cathedral Cemetery" was closed in the 1870's when the new one was opened. New Cathedral is located at 4300 Old Frederick Road. The phone number is 410-566-7770. They have always been very helpful. They have all their records in a computer database, and can probably tell you in a few minutes on the phone where he is buried. Ask them who else is in the same lot. If it's more than a couple names, they can send you a printout listing names and dates of burial in the lot. I don't believe they normally charge, but their great service is worth a donation.
