I have a request for anyone who might be visiting Mt. Olivet cemetery. I would like to find out what the inscription says on the stone for Ann E. Carroll Cottingham and Samuel Cottingham. Also buried with them are a Martha Cottingham and Bessie C. Wright. They are in section E, 113, SW/4. I've talked to the cemetery and they have given me all the information they have on file but could not tell me the stone inscription. They did tell me there is a stone at the base on 1 and 2 (Ann and Samuel). Thanks in advance, Lisa in PA.
Lisa, I should be able to get down there tomorrow, weather permitting. Snow is forecast for these parts, and the wind today has been gusting upwards of 50 mph for most of the day. Wonder what happened to that couple days of Spring we had last week! But I will do my best with my digital camera, or try to write whatever it may say that I can make out. I'm about two to three miles from Mt. Olivet, and do enjoy going there. Tim, I do appreciate you getting the inscription from Mt. Olivet. I don't know if it will tell me anything I don't already know but it's worth a try. I'll have to order her death certificate to verify her parents names but I am about 99% sure this is the "Miss Annie Carroll" I've been searching for. If I can find the funeral home who handle the funeral I might also be able to learn more, like who made the arrangements for burial. I grew up in Catonsville but don't get a chance to get there very often these days. Still have family there though.
