My g grandaunt, Anne Horn, married Charles L. Griffith who was born ca. 1855. I have Charles' parents as John T. and Sarah Griffith. They had a son, William, born ca. 1861, who may be the William you are looking for. Other children were: Laura, Edward, Sarah U., and Annie. This info is from the 1880 Census though I do not have the cite. Now, in 1885, this John T. Griffith was a carder in a cotton mill, living in Hampden.
