    3. The church was named Batz Church because of the Pastor's name. The story is that Pastor Batz was so well liked that they called the church Batz Church. It is really the First United Evangelical Church on Dillon Street and East Avenue now in Baltimore City. My grandmother was married there and most of the children baptised there. In fact there is a German cemetery connected (not physically, though) to the church where my Wolf family is buried. I have the list (not complete) of burials in the cemetery if you want me to email them to you. Also, I can scan the page from the book, "The Very Quiet Baltimoreans" that tells about the cemetery. I have been looking for years for the graves of Daniel and Martha Magee Meads. She passed in 1863 he in 1873. I doubted they would be there, but it was worth a phone call. KNIGHT, female,10, school ___rthy RUDO, black , female, 40 Jacob RUDO, male, blk, 4 The handwriting on this page is very hard to read. Trying to backtrack.... there are 11 PRICE families in Harf Co in 1840. But of course, 1840 does not give any details of children's or wives names. In Dist 2, there is no Joseph Price but there is a James. He's age 20-30. Has 2 sons under age 5 and 1 under age 10. No daughters. Wife is also 20-30. I think this might be Aquila's father. I'll see if he is in 1850 and write you off list. (I checked Thomas- also Dist 2- no children.) 2. Hi, I just discovered these online records. Maybe they'll help someone. Pauline was a longtime member of the Baltimore lists. You will likely have to go to the MD Gen Soc. homepage to click their links. HTH, Mona MARYLAND GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Baltimore City Church Register Transcriptions The Maryland Genealogical Society is pleased to make available the following transcriptions which have been generously donated by Mr. Robert Leitner. He and his late wife, Pauline Leitner<http://www.mdgensoc.org/database%20transcriptions/leitner%20bio.html> are responsible for copying and transcribing these files. These data are made available for all visitors to the Maryland Genealogical Society webpage. Information from these databases may be used on an individual basis but may not be copied in whole or reproduced elsewhere without permission of MdGenSoc. TIPS FOR USING THESE FILES: 1.. These are very large files. Even with DSL connections, they may take a while to load. 2.. Use your browser Search Function to find the name you are interested in [Control-F in IE] 3.. Use your Back or Return function to return to this or earlier pages. 4.. ALWAYS check the original records for additional information and the possibility of errors! 5.. Cite your source accurately.
