    1. Re: [BALTGEN-L] Ellicott Mills/Baltimore County
    2. The Sproat Family
    3. Looking for information from a land sale dated December 17, 1834. Have a copy of a land grant that tells of property located west of where Sarah Ellicotts garden on the Baltimore and Frederick Turnpike road and between the bridge over the Patapsco at Ellicott Mills and David Emerts house is. Can't seem to pinpoint it with the maps I have. Thought it might be where the C.A. Gambrill & Co. or Patapsco Flour Mill are located in the G.M. Hopkins 1878 Atlas are shown but only have the Howard County side, which shows very little on the Baltimore side. I have read that the great flood of 1868 devastated most of this side but hope that someone has insight to figure out where it was. Also wondered what the value of $1550 would be in today's market. Seemed like a lot of money for way back then.
